Vote for Barack Obama??
Some of the comments I have heard out of Romneys mouth shock and horrify me. He doesn’t believe in equality at all. He doesn’t believe in a woman’s choice to protect her body. And I don’t believe in him.
Now I am not American, so I had no vote – like millions of other people around the world I had to sit back and wait. Wait for news that would make me smile and cry and news that would make me scream, roll my eyes and well cry (I’m a crier).
By the time I was crashing into bed last night – Romney was ahead, but sushi bf and GBF kept insisting to be patient, not to worry, that some swing states still had to be counted for.
I’M NOT PATIENT.
But I went to bed knowing really that whether Obama or Romney pulled out the win, my day today would be exactly the same, not being American an all.
As soon as my alarm went off, instead of hitting snooze, I jumped on Facebook. The first post I read was my friend E liking a Beyoncé fb page that simply states “Four more years”. I smiled, squealed – yes I squealed at 6 am in a dark room alone – and then hit snooze and went back to sleep for another ten minutes!
America got it right in my opinion, I am sure some of my readers may completely disagree and that is okay because that’s the amazing thing about people – we are all entitled to our opinion, I am just joyous that for once, my opinion seems to have won the vote in the U.S.A! I can only hope that Mr Obama can fulfill some campaign promises, that he can revel in his win, but then get to work. I love the States, I do, and at time even wished I’d be able to move there, and I hope Obama can pull this off and make the country proud!
